Lights of Love 2022 – Event Recap

What a beautiful and meaningful evening we had on Friday, December 2 at Sakura House for the 3rd Lights of Love Tribute Celebration and Lighting Ceremony.

So far, we have raised closed to $65,000, which all goes to Sakura House and will help to ensure we can continue to offer end-of-life care at no cost to those who need it. We are so grateful to everyone who supported this event either through sponsorship, by purchasing a memorial lantern, by watching the livestream, or just generally showing love for hospice care in Oxford County. A special thank you to our Title Sponsor, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada and to our Media Sponsor, 104.7 Heart FM.

For those who were not able to view the livestream, it will remain on the VON Sakura House Facebook page and can be watched anytime or shared with others. Simply click HERE to go to the video. Thank you to have Cody Hayward from Heart FM for leading the Tribute Celebration as our emcee. Our speakers that evening were Janine Jackson (Sakura House Manager), Vanessa & Tammy (Hospice and Bereavement Coordinators), Jan (our Family Speaker), and John Goodbun (our Community Corperation President). A special thank you to Jan for sharing such a special recollection of her family members who spent time at Sakura House.

Over 250 lanterns glowed bright that evening – each and every one represented a cherished beautiful soul that is loved and missed. To further honour and represent these individuals, a Memorial Tribute Video will be created and shared soon, so please stay tuned for that. We hope to share that by the end of December.

Again, thank you to everyone who made this event happening!
