Lights of Love

On December 2nd, 2022 we will light up Sakura House for our patients and families for the third time in a virtual format! But, we need your help to do it! When you make a minimum donation of $25 to our Lights of Love fundraiser, you can remember a loved one on a special memorial lantern that will be lit with a candle on the evening of December 2nd. We will place your loved one’s name and an optional message on the memorial lantern and include a picture of your it in a special video that you can view after the event. Donations can also be made in honour of or in celebration of someone special too – a friend, a caregiver or a front-line healthcare worker.
Lights of Love is a wonderful and meaningful way to celebrate the memory of those who have died and honour those close to our hearts. On the evening of the event, we will send you a link to view our virtual event live on Facebook where you can:
1. See all of the beautiful memorial lanterns from a distance;
2. Listen to beautiful holiday music performed by local artists;
3. Participate in a special memorial ceremony to remember your loved one(s);
4. Watch the exciting moment when we turn on the holiday lights at Sakura House.
All donations to this event will go towards the Sakura House Recovery Fund. The Sakura House Recovery Fund will help cover the increased costs due to the pandemic, such as extra nursing care, extra cleaning and other highest needs. It will also help us recover from the loss in memorial donations we continue to experience due to pandemic-related changes to funerals and memorials.
