We are very excited to announce a new outdoor project at Sakura House – a Labyrinth.
What is a Labyrinth?
A labyrinth is a sacred path based on circular, ancient geometric patterns that gently lead us into the centre and then back out again. Labyrinths have been a part of our world for thousands of years and can be found all over the globe. A labyrinth encourages us to pause, to breathe, to take time to reflect, and just be. It provides precious opportunity for clarity of thought, insight, peace, the beginnings of a healing process, and perhaps even a new life challenge! The labyrinth offers a single path to the centre and back out again. It is not a maze. You simply follow the path.’
Why are we building a Labyrinth at Sakura House?
At Sakura House, we believe that every day is a gift. We are committed to providing compassionate, quality, and loving care to those who are at end of life, to their families and loved ones. Our labyrinth offers an opportunity for families and loved ones to walk in a safe, reflective, and healing space during an extremely challenging and transitional time. Anyone from the community is welcome to walk the labyrinth, to feel its healing presence, to develop new or different perspective on their current life situation.

How to donate to the Labyrinth?
Please stay tuned for information regarding in-kind donations (ex. plants) as we hope to post a wish-list of items. Anyone requesting a tax receipt with their donation MUST include the item’s receipt.
